JChidester then and now, started about August '96.

I'm still biri97. I joined AOL in 1997 and the biri stands for Block Island Rhode Island. I've stuck with AOL through thick and thin and enjoy it. I do so miss the old AOL Board days.

I am still around also. I started out as Hal32 but went to using my regular name. The 32 stood for being born on March 2. I still use Hal32@aol.com as my E-Mail address. Hal

TDSimpson is also still here. The T is for Tom and the D is for Diane. And before anyone asks, the Simpson is for Simpson. Can't believe it has really been 10 years.

Thanks for finding the old post on AOL.
That sure brings back memories. I did not start The AOL Lighthouse Collectibles bulletin board until Feb 1997 but I was able to go back and read all the post 6 months previous. So I started following the post from Summer 96. I remember watching each post, as HL prices would rise higher every time someone would sell them.
1996 was the year that HL prices Sky rocketed.

Love the old logs! Pretty good speculation by John and Paul but did they have inside info...

Picking the hotel for 1998 was pretty easy. I didn't have inside info. It was a matter of finding a hotel that had 250+ rooms and some nearby lighthouses.

I called the Newport Marriott and talked to the sales (catering) person and asked some questions and she gave it away.

No inside information here, in those days... Besides I don't post it, if I have inside information about something.. Sworn to double top secret status.. Like I have shot pictures of the new 2007 releases and I haven't told a person what they are, but they are very nice... I am sure I am allowed to say that much!!
