I am totally disappointed with Y&A's decision to depict the Seven Foot Knoll lighthouse on land (where it has been moved to as a tourist attraction) rather than depicting the light as one would expect to see that particular light - - in the water.

Did Y&A show the various Anchor Bay boats on land or tied up at a pier? You betcha they didn't! Even though several lightships have been tied up to a pier, Y&A depicted them at sea. Even though those ships are no longer at sea, the Anchor Bay replicas show them at sea. Can't we expect the same for screwpile lighthouses? Even though the Seven Foot Knoll light was moved to a pier, it should have been depicted at sea, just as much as an Anchor Bay lightship, now at a pier, is still shown at sea.

I had been looking forward to buying the Seven Foot Knoll light when Harbour Lights releases them. No longer. I'll wait and see if CSC makes a Seven Foot Knoll depicted at sea and possibly get her version.

Barb Kepple who posted elsewhere that she was one of the guessers at last year's reunion to pick Seven Foot Knoll has her piece. I've talked her into taking some photos of it and they should be available in 10 days or so.

Don't jump ship yet.

Even over land, or possibly even more so over land, this is a very impressive piece. Just by looking at the pictures, the detailing looks great, espicially the brick work pathways. I'd give it a wow and I most certainly would by it.

If the present is included in what is real, then this looks pretty real to me! The only thing that appears to be lacking is the ungainly set of stairs up to the lighthouse, but I won't quibble over those, nor miss them in the least. I too would have preferred the piece depicted on the water, but realism, per se, doesn't appear to be an issue with this piece. I'm just curious about how HL is going to pack this to prevent breakage of the boat's two masts!

Is it my imagination, or does it look like the top red band has been "knocked" off center a tad?

Rod-

I think I may have been leaning a little when I took this photo - none of the bands are off center in reality!

Rod -

do what I did, just put a folded up newspaper under the left side of your moniter. It looks just fine now on my moniter. Or you can try one of my new drinks I invented to help you see better. A mixture of three parts Rock and Rye, one part Gin, one part tonic water and a splash of thinner. I call it the "Titanic" because after three of these - your going down.

Hope this helps,
Mark

Bzzztt!! Bad choice.

Drum Point all over again---boring. Be ready for breakage issues with the sailboat masts.

Now...put it in the water the way it was originally...maybe put a keeper on the balcony with the sailboat going by...now THAT would merit a "wow."

I have to admit I was leery of the decision to depict the Seven Foot Knoll over land but as usual, Y&A did an excellent job. There may be breakage issues however, the packaging has improved with each experience (possible exception of Old Field Point's tree). There are no guarantees against breakage. Case in point, I'm waiting for my replacement of Gay Head (a "sturdy" piece) which had damaged shingles.

I'll wait to view (in person) the finished piece before making a final judgement.
