As the annual budget has just been submitted to FSBHQ, And Tim and I are starting to look for a few items of high importance to the FSB, first of all the water storage/fishing resovior/skating rink is in desperate need of a Zamboni. If you have one available or know of one available please e-mail Tim jtauc1@home.com or me Slugo35@aol.com with information, we are looking for a 89 or newer model, low mileage preferred, will consider a higher mileage unit if the mileage is mostly highway miles.

And secondly we need a good ice fishing shed, preferably with a heater or wood burning stove (this is for secret research Tim is doing, with beer samples and the relationship between the weight and length of the walleye)

Thanks in advance for your help, FSB budget/procurment staff, Tim and Mark

Tim & Mark,
Perhaps you can get these folks to throw in the shuttle bus in the background. This would allow you to use your remote parking facility for visitors and shuttle them to and from the FSB (and remote it is!) Could also use it to conduct tours of the FSB complex. Or, maybe even it could become an ice fishing shed on wheels.

Best wishes on having your budget approved. John has been very hard on the rest of the forum cruise directors, threatening to reduce funding for all of us so he can pay for some kind of bus trip he is planning.

Dave

Hey Tim, ...Does that Zamboni clone come with a lawn mower attachment? It looks good but the shipping charges might be a little steep.

Happy New Year!

Like a good football team at a major university, the FSB works hard to be self-funding. I believe Mark is about ready to unthaw Blind Tony from the oil house to begin 'receiving grants & donations' to the Fogsignal Research Institute. We trust all alumni who've enjoyed our facilities over the years will give generously. Nicely large gifts will find their donor's names on our special 'Friends of the FSB' honor roll and accorded special privileges during the off-season. (Last year Mark hitched the wheeled canoe up to the Yugo and and took families on a 'check the ice' lake tour with a special stop at the Lac du Fresnel tribe's Lefse Fest.)

So when you think of those year end charity gifts, think Fogsignal Research - "Better Living Through All Kinds of Stuff"®.

Good News !!!
On 12-31-00 we recieved a telegram @ FSB that the budget had been approved, So Tim and I set out to take a look at a few Zamboni's. First stop East St. Louis,IL. The Zamboni had not been taken care of, so it was off to North Kingsville, OH. this machine had 176,000 miles and Tim said it would need new tires soon, so it was off to West Memphis, AK. to see a 97' Zamboni we both liked the machine but the guy wouldn't take Tim's offer and Tim refuses to pay full price without a quality haggeling, so we headed off to South Haven MI. to find the dream Zamboni, Tim negotiated his price and we were on the way home with the FSB's 94 Zamboni. We weren't able to tow it home with the Yugo because it's only 41 HP, so I drove it back with the head lights and flashers running. We made good time it only took 13 hours to drive back. Here is the FSB's hired hand, Jeff cleaning up the place.

We have a few leads to follow up with the fishing shanty but hope to be fishing indoors within the next few weeks.
