Lorna scrutinizes our credit card bills to make sure what is on the statement are things we actually purchased. It isn't that difficult a task because I usually pay cash for everything except for Harbour Light products from my dealer in Oregon.
Lorna noticed a charge from Harbour Lights in Maine for $39 on December 1. Since this was somewhat unusual because my dealer is the Lighthouse Gallery, I looked into it.
The only thing that cost $39 was the Collector Society Membership, but I charged that back in August. A quick call to Harbour Lights revealed that the charge was incorrect and their mistake. I did have to show proof for their records so I scanned my August and December statement and emailed it to them proving the incorrect charge.
They were very nice about it, but afterall it wasn't my mistake. I told them to keep the $39 and apply it to my CS Membership for 2007-2008 rather than crediting my card.
I thought nothing of it after that but Lorna felt if it happend to us, it may have happend to someone else. Check you statements, folks!
