Seems Bill has heard a rumor out in the netherlands that he is dead or has had a heart attack. He reports that (to quote Mark Twain) The rumors of his death are greatly exaggerated. He is feeling fine and doing well. Nancy is also.

So let's come up with some creative ways we can get the word out - Bill Younger is alive and well!

Actually those folks have it all mixed up, as it was Wilhem von Yunger that died. Wilhem was from the very distance Dutch branch of the Younger clan. I believe Wilhem was out for a Lighthousing weekend when he mistakenly thought a windmill was a lighthouse. Yep, as he was taking close-up pictures of the tower (for his distance cousin Bob's autobiography), one of the blades konked him on the back of the head and killed him. It is understandable that people could confuse him with Bill, but Bill is alive and well in El Cajon.

Bill is probably at home relaxing and wearing those nice Beaver Moccassins that he had made after Bob's untimely motorcycle ride.

Bill doesn't discount and I don't buy discounted HL's from dealers but you almost have the rest of it correct... first there will be a LE then a OE followed by an Ornament and a Spyglass and a Thumbnail.

Geneaological records identify Wilhem von Yunger (or Junger) on the Prussian branch - wasn't he the Lichtmeister for Fredrick the Great in the 1700's? A resident of what was then the town of Konigsberg?

On the Dutch side, I believe you're thinking of Hermannus van Yunkergroot who was also known for the size of his index finger. Married to Leta van Yunkergroot (nee Trostle). Leta is descended from Dutch proto-Master Jan Swart van Groningen, famous for his 'Abduction of Ganymede'. And yes, the eye sight of Hermannus was weak, he reportedly was a Mason and his lodge name was 'Baaikûp Vinger' (loosely translated as 'bad finger') but everyone called him Scrubby.
