How about asking: Will you be doing any Lighthouse traveling over the Thanksgiving Week?

Put me down for a YES! laugh

Not on Thanksgiving Day, but if the weather holds Friday, Saturday and Sunday, you can count on it.

We'll be entertaining our family at my home as usual. I have four days off and need the time to catch up on a few things, get all the Christmas decorations up, and visit a few friends who will be in the area for the holiday.

The year 2002 has been the fastest year I think I've ever experienced. Where does the time go?

It flies by rather quickly Bob. Seems the older I get the faster time seems to go by. Try to get some time to get out there and get a few more pictures, before the real cold weather sets in.

I'll be out lighthousing that weekend starting Thanksgiving Day. The Stony Point lighthouse has a free lighthouse tour that day. Then on Saturday I'll be heading south to Maryland for the Turkey Point relighting ceremony.

This will be the second Thanksgiven in a row, I will be at work in Tampa, instead of with my Family in NC. I have a choice to either working Thanksgiven or Christmas, and I always choose Thanksgiven. Next Year I should get both Holidays off. (I hope. )

I'm quite surprised by the results from this poll.

1. That only a very small percentage of people will spend the day with friends. It's either extended family or just the immediate family for dinner.

2. The dominance of turkey as the entre of choice. Of course I thought it would be a majority - but 93% is BIG.

3. It's not a good day for restaurants. Only about 1 in 8 families will eat out on this day.

In fact, we planned to eat out tomorrow, but after calling around to find out which restaurants were offering Turkey dinners, I found out that our 'everyday' restaurants were closed tomorrow and those fancy restaurants at the better resorts were offering a buffet only. You can't order off the menu. And at $42-$65 per person, that's a bit steep for us. Chris doesn't eat much and I was planning on sharing with Suzie.

So we're going to cook up the Turkey breast, some mashed potatoes, carrots and dressing and stay at home for the day tomorrow.
