According to a few ads on E-Bay, the Mukilteo, WA piece is an open end numbered HL417, but if you look at the info sent by HL, HL417 is Alcatraz!?! What's the deal??

The Mukilteo originally came out as an open edition with the number HL417. Then in 2/27/96 Harbour Lights change it to a limited edition with the number HL178. Since The number HL417 was now available it was then assigned to the GLOW version of Alcatraz in 1998.

So is that what happened to Mukilteo, went from a open to a LE as it is advertised as a HL417 "open west" and a retail of $55 in 1996; then the LE HL178 is listed 96-99 with a retail of $55 (though this one dealer has his resale at $75 for 417 and $65 for 178; Alcatraz is listed as a GLOW under the same. So If I bought the 417 Mukilteo, it's worth more, but an open end with a lower number (and perhaps a letter) than the 178 number?!? confused confused

Rutherford stated in his book “The Survival Guide” that the split was equal making both version of the Mukilteo around 4,750. I would say both versions would be about the same in value. But when I bought mine I made sure I bought the Glow version. I feel that the glow version is more interesting and it has a neat story of why the Mukiteo was made into a limited edition. And of course all double digits go for more.
