Rumor has it another Harbour Lights limited edition is on the verge of retiring. It's not the 1999-2000 Society Exclusive or Gift (which will be retiring on April 30, 2000.)

Any guesses? Which one and on which day will it retire? First one to guess the correct piece and retirement date wins a future Limited Edition from Harbour Lights. Winner will be announced when the item retires.

Keep in mind retirement has to occur on a business day - M-F, don't guess weekend dates.

OK, lurkers, here's a reason to register and begin posting. Let's see if this thread can hit 50 by Friday.

One Guess per person ONLY. (Thanks Paul for noticing that).

If you were at the bogus chat LAST NIGHT, please don't 'guess'. Keep it under the FREE HAT you'll get from MO. Seems she let it slip.

I believe it will be Presque Isle and on May 15th. (You didn't ask but I see it followed by Gray's Harbor and Pigeon Point then Fenwick in the not too distant future).

Longships turns 3 years old on May 1st...BUT...HL will want to keep it around so they can sell it with their Pharos Collection. My guess is either Navesink or Chicago Harbor.

I'll take Navesink...retired early on May 12.

"If you were at the bogus chat LAST NIGHT"

John, I know you still like using your home made sundial/calandar (old dead tree and assorted stones) but Windows 95 and 98 and even 2000 have a calendar built in, so if you could just double check your numbers, I wouldn't have driven the FSB Yugo in the pouring rain to the meeting hall for the chat on wrong night

Our guess is also for Chicago Harbor on May 18, 2000, when the full moon comes.

Oh don't say Chicago Harbor. I haven't had a chance to buy it yet. Does this mean I need to run out and get it soon? I was thinking Grand Haven should be retiring soon. I don't know what days HL usually picks to retire pieces so I will say Grand Haven on May 31.

I think it will be Navesink.

Everywhere I go dealers ask me if I want to buy theirs. They were hot at first but now they take up too much space and inventory.

We're headin' way off course here.

NOT Navesink. The correct piece has not yet been guessed. Those who haven't posted already can eliminate those in their guessing.

Ugh... a veritable plethora of information we "bogus" chatters have, and we can't share it. How much more can this chief bosun take? Hang in there everyone, and keep those guesses coming.

Florida lights tend to retire quickly. Low edition size. Definite WOW status. Is it too early for American Shoal to retire?

What the heck. That's my guess. American Shoal, FL.

Now a date, how about my anniversary. May 17.

OK, OK. We have a winner.

It was Oak Island NC. It retired last Wed or Thursday so I'm declaring WClark the winner with his guess of May 4th.

We'll have to take care of the awarding of an LE Harbour Lights after the HL gang gets back from Atlanta. The truck is already there, Mo and KB are flying out on Tuesday, Kim on Wednesday. I think Bill's close to there now and Nancy may be too.

Congratulations WClark. Those who attended the 'bogus chat' and held their tongues all this time deserve a Harbour Lights cap. Mo knows who you are, but you'll need to email her your shipping address. matwell@harbourlights.com

Whew... finally! Congratulations wclark. I'm so glad that someone finally guessed it. John... thanks for that information regarding Maureen. I talked with her today and gave her my home address. She is anxiously waiting to hear from those who were at the "bogus" chat.

Congratulations and Happy Birthday to you wclark! Glad to see Oak Island as the answer as it's the last HL I bought!

Question: If the forums are not associated with HL how come they are giving us prizes?
(Not that I'm complaining!)

Mombo... "prizes" is such a harsh term to use in this situation. I prefer to call them "hush gifts". Just lucky being at the right place, at the right time!

Terry, I have been in NC about 20 years. We are planning to go to Hatteras. Usually Memorial Day week-end is very, very crowded; I can't imagine what this year will be.

Works about the same way as when HL sends items for Clubs to use as giveaways for their meetings. We're just one big HL Club with a high ratio of WACKOs.
