I was wondering if anyone out there has information on the serial number ranges for the other "green water" variations(Barnegat, New London Ledge and Michigan City) like John posted for Minot's Ledge. I have the Survival Guide that lists very approximate ranges but I was wondering if anyone has refined it more. I am still in my quest to find these pieces(at reasonably cheap prices) and thought that I had found a Michigan City today only to find I was a little to high on the serial number range after I saw the piece.

Any help would be appreciated.

Alright, maybe I asked the question about the number range the wrong way. Let me ask it this way. If anybody has the "Green Water" variations of New London Ledge, Barnegat and Michigan City, could you please let me know your serial number(s) so I can get a range to start looking in. There was one seller that insisted they had a green water New london Ledge and I bought it only to get it and found out it was actually blue water. Color is in the eye of the beholder I guess. I had to ship it back to her. Please help out if you can. I would really appreciate it.

Still a sore spot for me. The 'information' in the Greenbook was taken from the www.LighthouseKeepers.com web site without permission or credit.

That data was contributed by many collectors who answered surveys about each possible variation.

I knew it was still a sore spot John but didn't want to speak for you on the subject.

I want to thank you guys for the information so far. This will start to get me in the ball part. Anyone else that wants to add some serial numbers, it would be greatly appreciated and will save me some money by not having to return a piece that looks green to someone but actually is blue.

Hey Rich, I ran across this picture I took a few years back of my two different Michigan City pieces with the water color variations the one on the left is the green water although not a great color difference like NNL, Barnegat or Minots

Thanks Mark. It sure doesn't have much of a difference like the others. One of my collector friends has a Michigan City(#2343) that she is selling. It's a pretty high serial number but I may have to look at it. She said it had a green hue to it but I figured the serial number range was too high. I guess I had better look at it because she only wants $75 for it.

On Ebay there was a Canadian Michigan City with blue water but with a different shade of blue than a Malaysian.

The highest serial number so far for a "green Water" Michigan City is #1757. Does anyone out there have a higher number then this? It again would be appreciated if you have a higher number to either post it here or email me if you don't want to post. Thanks in advance.

Although it isn't going to help much, I'll put my info in. I have Michigan City with the Blue/Green water. It is Canadian & is #51.
