This was one of those pieces where production was moved from Malaysia to China. Some changes were made in the mold as I recall, but I can't recall what the exact differences were.
I know another one in this group, Scituate had a change from a molded gallery railing to a metal one.
Can anyone recall the Cape Meares differences?

Cape Meares ventilator ball got smaller and the lantern changed from gray to blue. Cape Mears Variation

Besides the lantern room color and ventilator ball size, the vegetation on the China pieces have a LOT more violet and red flowers throughout the green vegetation on both sides of the lighthouse.
