This year when examing the print of Coney Island I noticed for the first time that these prints are signed and numbered. In checking the two previous ones that I have they were also signed and numbered.

What I am wondering is, do these have any particular value? If they are a HL Limited Edition item, shouldn't they? Are the earlier ones worth more if they were given as a benefit of membership renewal, as the numbers of renewing members has grown each year?

Does this bear discussing? Does anyone have any knowledge of these prints? How many "exclusive" ones are there? Do we know the "Edition Size" of each?

Do I assume correctly that those listed on the "Price List" are open edition prints, mostly from past calendars?

FWIW, the Point Fermin I have is numbered but not signed. The others do appear to be signed and numbered. One of them is a 5 digit number.

Mark Sherman's works are well done. I would suspect that many people who do not collect HL's might purchase one of his prints of their favorite light. The cost of the prints is very reasonable. The cost of framing is another story.

If I remember correctly, as part of your membership you got a FRAMED Pt. Fermin. The one I have is signed and numbered. I was hoping that they would come framed the following year but alas. What is everyone doing with all your Sherman prints? All the ones I have are signed and numbered. Two are larger than the rest Rose Island (from the last reunion) and Point Pinos (and I have no idea where that one came from).

My Rose Island print was promptly framed and currently hangs on my living room wall near one of my curios. Curently, it is the only "Mark Sherman" print I have displayed. I have several other original paintings, prints, and enlarged photos displayed on various walls in my home.

I've got a great collection of the original green/green mats from the Sherman prints...they didn't go with the decor. Rematted and framed all of the annual pics; we have a space about 1 foot high above the kitchen cabinets - perfect for all the prints I can find!

Gotta agree with ya anniemac, the matting is consistently off tone. The originals are really something though.

I remember the winner of the grand prize drawing at the First HL Reunion had a choice between an original CH1 and Mark Sherman's original painting of New Point Loma. It was really spectacular. She chose the painting as would have most of the attendees.

Sometimes I display the Sherman prints as a backdrop for the HL models. It would be great if HL brought back the Mark Sherman calendars.

A Mark Sherman 2002 Calendar is in the works. Mark said he's got the paintings done, but wouldn't disclose any of them at the California Regional.

I expect we'll see the Calendar in Chicago.
