Green sky. The power goes out. A rushing wind noise that sounds like an oncoming locomotive. Suddenly all hell breaks loose. Windows implode and the roof is ripped off. Fortunately you and your family are in the basement canning pears. All are safe.
Days later, as you pick through the rubble waiting for the insurance adjuster, you see it. Oh my goodness... what is that peaking out beneath the edge of a mattress? Gently you lift the corner and pry it loose completely intact. One...just one...of your beloved Harbour Lights collection has managed to escape the disaster unscathed.
Which one is it?

New Point Loma, it holds too many great memories of my friends in San Diego, the lighthouse I maintained and all the buddies I met and made at the 1st Reunion!

Coquille River because of the wheeling and dealing to get it means the most to me and brings me the best memories. Rich

Tough choice to make, Tim. I have to go with an area light. Nauset Light would be my choice. My HL126 was a gift from a friend and has special meaning to me. Bob

Would have to be Scituate Light. It was my very first Harbor Lights. I used to live not to far from there and would drive down and ponder life on the rocks. Awe youth! LOL

I hope it's Point Betsy because that was my first light. It is also a reminder of a dear friends daughter's wedding under the light. And a wonderful weekend with my wife at Frankfurt where we stayed for the wedding.

I will have to stand by my standard answer...Tarrytown. The real light is what got me started on lighthouses in general and was also my first HL.

You would think this would be a tough decision but for me it is a easy one...
My Gold Cape St George Regional Event lighthouse...
Not because it is Gold but because Bill Younger presented both John Chidester and myself each with one at the Regional in Anaheim in 2001 for the work we have done on the Harbour Lights website... that makes it very very special to me! The only time in my recent memory I have been left speechless...
Onward to The Land of the Midnight Sun!

Paul you better pick another one. That Cape St. George is so heavy it would take more than a tornado to lift it away. Bob

A tough choice! Old Baldy was the light we stopped at on the way back from Myrtle Beach that got us hooked on lighthouses, and Portland Breakwater was our first Harbour Light that got us hooked on HL !!

Tawas Point, MI (#152), this was my first Harbour Light and the start of my obession. I had started a collection of Spoontiques (hold on - no need to start a lynch-mob over the name ) of the lighthouses we had seen while in Michigan. As most know, you can walk up to Tawas Point Lighthouse, but can't go inside. We walked around that cold May morning taking our pictures and went to town to purchase the light to only find that none were available. When we got home I searched on the web and found the HL Tawas on eBay. After a bunch of mad bidding at the last minute, I think I paid about $120.00 for the beaut. I have it on one of my glass shelves and know that it's detail that sold me on HL's forever.
