What is the rarest brochure by Harbour Lights? By rarest I mean as the hardest to find if to be purchased, not by how many were produced. I also plan on proving my statement of this brochure being the rarest.
First hint: I plan on catching everyone on this one.

I haven't the slightest idea. Like many of our fellow CF members, it will be interesting to learn which one it was. If you're accepting logical guesses, I would think maybe the first brochure when Harbour Lights was just starting out? Bob

Yes; the first brochure is the logical guess but is not the answer. The first brochure was extremely rare until HL found a stack of them and gave them out at the first reunion. I believe there were 450 at the reunion and each person got one of the first brochures. After the reunion the first brochures started to go on the market and for those collectors that wanted one was then able to obtain one.
This would then make the 1992 brochure the rarest, followed up by 1993. I know these two were the hardest for me to find.
But there is one brochure even rarer than all of them.

Do you have a photo of this brochure, or could you describe the cover? I have a lot of Harbour Lights stuff I saved from the past. I was also given some more HL stuff by a collector I bought out with the exception of a few pieces. Bob

I have the brochure. Like many of my HL, it is in storage. I will have to go by memory. It is the brochure that was released in the UK for the Pharos collection. It has the Harbour Light UK office address and PH number. I believe the UK office for HL was at the David Winter Cottages office. I asked the UK dealer for one when I purchased my Pharos collection back in 2001.
This is not to be confused with the US brochure. This brochure has only the Pharos, other UK lights and Canadian lights. No US lights. I have contacted HL customer service after I got the brochure and they didn't have it or ever heard of it.
I am assuming that I was probably the only collector that requested the brochure, which would make it the only one. Since the brochure was sent to the dealers in UK around six years ago I would also assume that they have been long thrown out. If anyone else got one from UK let me know.

I tried comparing my brochures with those at the HL site and couldn't find matches for anything I have. My first dealer never put out any materials and I didn't know enough to ask HL for them. Most of what I have, I acquired when my dealer went out of business and brought everything out of the stock room. Hopefully, Don will update the list of publications along with everything which needs to be brought up to par.

Oh sure, you ask the rarest and then you say you have a copy in STORAGE! No fair, Daniel BUMMER. nd the search is on... Grace I'm the guy who should have those brochures up to date. But with a few other HL irons in the fire, it will be a while. Sorry.

Yes John I need to find it so you can post pictures of it. I forgot all about it, until I saw Pauls post asking for a 1992 brochure.

I should check my archives to see if I may have that brochure that Paul is looking for. Paul, did you locate one yet? Bob

I found the Pharos brochure. I will scan it in early this week and post it.
I was mistaken it does have some US lighthouses on it.
One page has the description of Harbour Lights in three languages. The interesting thing about the brochure is the contact point. It is John Hine.

Very cool! I need to get more of the international series; I have several but I am particularly interested in Longships and Bremerhaven. Wish I hadn't missed out on Pharos but they are currently too pricey for me.
