Since there is a lot of excitement about low numbers and the chance of winning one of Bills single digits. I thought this would be interesting to see what the collectors got. We have talked about the low number two digit autoshipments. But I don't think this question has been asked before.

What are your three lowest numbers and what lighthouses (Anchorbay or Fresnel Lense) are they?

My autoship on LE's is flag #23. My Anchor Bay autoship is #15. I don't own any numbers lower than those.

My lowest number that's in my collection is #A0033 and that is on the five pieces that make up the Great Lakes Stamp Set. After that it is Boca Grande at #0050, Seven Foot Knoll at #0054 and Sea Girt at #0081. The majority of my other pieces are in the #00497-#00681 range from my autoship.

I'm not really emphatic about low numbers as long as the pieces are in good shape. I figure if I ever sell my collection, having the whole collection is much more important then having bits and pieces in the low number range. I have had several chances to change dealers with double digit autoship numbers but my dealer takes real good care of me and why should I change just to get a lower number. On top of that as more and more HL dealers drop out I'm automatically coming down in the serial number range. I dropped 100 numbers down to 0497 the 1st of this year. By the time I retire I will probably be down to the 200 range.

Does a negative number count? Just kidding....

I think this topic hasn't been updated for so long as collectors have had multiple opportunities to secure "practically unlimited" numbers of single digit pieces through HL and LHD over the past 3-4 years that the lure of a single digit piece isn't the same as it use to be back when Bill keep them for his own discretion.....

I have a #10 Dry Tortungas, FL.

I think I have only one CA piece. I took it to San Diego with me to have Bill sign and as soon as he saw it and before I could even finish saying "is this a CA piece", he said I know it is. I might have one other, it has a gray bottom but no sticker on the bottom. The best I can do as I really didn't start collection until 2005.

I have several single digit pieces. I think the lowest is #3. The most important one I have is Southeast Light, Block Island, which is #9. Southeast Light was the very first HL I purchased in the Summer of 1994. Purchasing the #9 piece 15 years later made my day.
