Fraser's International Lighthouse
DUBLIN IRELAND

Usually lighthouses from other manufacturers never catch but my eye, but this one did.
I almost bided on it. It’s made by a manufacturer in Scotland. I believe that they are the company that make the neat castle figurines that is advertised in magazines. It looks like they have the quality of Harbour Lights. They even have the production at 5500 just like the early HL.
I did a search on ebay for others and this was the only one I could find.

Does anyone else know anything more about them. I would like to know if they only make lighthouses FOR Scotland and Ireland? Are they still around?

Daniel,

I think I am going to order one of the Fraser pieces...it's a lighthouse called St. Catherines (couldn't pass up a lighthouse with the same name)! I emailed the seller to make sure I am correct on the postage ($25.00 US). If I get the lighthouse, I will bring it to the St. Augustine event so you can see it in person. They look to be very well done. I read where Fraser has done over 200 well known landmarks around the world. I am hoping to find some from Rome..Pantheon, Collisseum, etc as remembrances of my trip 2 years ago.

Cathy, if you get your lighthouse, maybe you can post a picture for us to see. The Howth light is very nice.

Grace,

Yes, I will definitely post a picture. They look to be very detailed. I'm waiting for them to confirm shipping cost, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to get it.

I went ahead and ordered St.Catherine's Lighthouse. It was about 43 USD including shipping. Can't wait to see it in person!

St. Catherine's lighthouse ... great thing. I bought one on eBay.
Had to have it, because of Stan's special relationship to this lighthouse. Stan's children still dream about the holidays they spent there with their grandparents. Stan's father was keeper there. wink

If I remember correctly, Lighthouse Depot carried Fraser International Lighthouses at one time. I don't know if they still do or not.

It looks like a real nice piece.

Daniel, I'm going to Ireland in Sept with Jim and Hilari. If you would like and don't find anyhing out prior to that, I'll do what I can to get you some information on them.

I do know Fraser made cottages (similar to David Winter). The HL dealer I worked for in the mid 90's also carried Fraser cottages. Their quality was very comparable to the quality of the Harbor Lights we carried at the time (the 1994 - 1996 releases). We only had their cottages, though.

Thanks for that website. The lighthouses look very nice, seem to be very well made. Might be a good way to get some of those hard to find British lights.

I recieved the St.Catherine's light in the mail today. It's nice, but the buildings have this plastic/wax look to it. The grass looks just like HL. I will take some pics and try to upload them as soon as I can.
