Ok - simple poll.

Have long have you been collecting HL Limited Editions (months or years).

How many HL Limited Editions do you have?

I bought my first HL (Southeast Light) during the summer of 1994. I didn't know who made it and I didn't care. I liked it so I bought it.

I bought my second HL (Brant Point Light) in September 1997. That is when I started collecting HL's. I have every limited edition lighthouse except for Coquille River. I have Cape Hatteras HL102R and not the skinny tower original. I do not have the NPL mini either.

I've never counted my HL's and I do have numerous duplicates and GLOW's. Therefore, I do not know exactly how many I have, and I'm not about to go into my storage area and count them.

I'm on autoship and get one of every new limited edition except for GLOW's. I'll only buy the GLOW if I really like it.

Does anyone know exactly how many HL's I have not counting duplicates and GLOW's?

I've been collecting sine June 1994 and have enough Harbour Lights to fill 6 large curios and 2 small hanging curios. I buy all limited editions and ornaments. I have only 2 GLOWS(Marblehead and Split Rock in my Stamp Set). I haven't got all of them, but I have a good portion of them.

Summer of '92 - all of them!

Summer of 96' and up until last year I had everything except a few high price variations, but last year I dropped my autoship and have just kept up with the pieces that I think will be hard to find later and the pieces that really grab my attention.

I do have all lightning rod pieces with and without and lots of doubles, last time I counted a few years ago I had over 300 pieces. I think I have less than 10 GLOWS though.

Got my first one in '92 but didn't collect. Got my second in '95 still didn't collect. Got my third in '96 thought about collecting but held off. Finally got my fourth piece sometime in '97 and that time I caught the bug. I currently have 165 LE's with 3 more due any day.

May 1995, HL #101 was our first!

I started in 1999, with a GLOW- Hilton Head.

I now have 87 LE's.

Got my first piece just over 1 year ago (Dec.21,2000). Cought the bug instantly!!! I now have 143 LE's, 3 glow's, 1 LL, and 20 ornaments.

And sence I am on Autoship with my dealer this number will be growing soon.

Now, ask me how much money I have in savings at the bank (the answer is 0).

We (including my wife) started 11/01/01 since that time we have collected 18 LE's, 1 GLOW (Thomas Pt.), 2 LLOM, 3 thumbnails. The most recent this weekend Sandy Point and Hooper Strait (HL642) to match the thumbnails that were given to me by BY via my dealer. I had the neat job of preparing my dealers order for this year when they went to market in Atlanta several weeks ago. That's what I like about a mom and pop shop, plus my daughter works there so I have a connection. They said Bill was a hoot and showed them every light on the list and told them the history of each one. Apparently his excitment about lighthouses is contagious, I can't wait to meet the man myself.

Got my first (GLOW Cape Hatteras 401) as a birthday present from my family in March '97 and immeditely caught the bug. Since then I have approximately 150 LE's, a few GLOW's and a couple of ornaments. Have attended 2 reunions, a couple of Rosemont Collectors shows plus the signing at Cape Hatteras in '99 and numerous in-store events. I guess this qualify's me for being certifiable (as my wife puts it). Looking forward to the min-reunion at Rosemont this year.

We found our first (2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th) HL pieces at a small gift shop in Florida while on vacation in November, 1997. Caught the bug instantly and even stopped at several other dealers on the way home. I don't know exactly how many we have, but we're missing 7.

Started Summer of '99 and have 122 including 15 GLOWs so I guess that makes 107 LE's

September 16 1998, Yaquina Bay. An anniversary present from my husband commemerating our trip several years before to Oregon. Now 3+ years later 190 LE's + 2 Glow's (Great Lakes Series), couple of ornaments. Half the colllection is in towering pyramids of boxes in the corners of my dining room!

Summer '99. 110 LEs

Ok - I started in August of '95 with my dad sending me a gift of Old Mackinac. I've got all the original 5500 & 9500 series except Coquille - and will acquire that one someday. Have all the Society, Reunion, Christmas, and Event pieces. Missing probably 30 of the 10,000 series and a few of the newest ones. Proud owner of a BoB Tree AP and a couple golden doodads. :-)

And yes I knowingly have purchased a GLOW (with help from JC) - the Tybee Glow signed by Bill, Nancy, and Collin Chambers at the relighting ceremony. :-)

Started late in 1996 buying a Jupiter as a gift for my then to be wife Marla. She didn't catch the collecting bug, but I did.

The collection consists of all the LE's except Cape Hatteras, Sandy Hook, Coquille, St. Auggie, and Hilton Head. I'm also missing a few of the later 2001 releases. I also have all of the Society, Christmas, ornaments, event pieces, and many other misc. GLOWS, Reunion, and special pieces.

Started aug of 1995 with old mackinac point.By sept of 95 i had 50 LE.I now have all but coquille river and a few newer ones,2 glows,20 little lights and 30 ornaments.

After seeing this list, I don't know if I can still consider myself a collector! Our local pharmacy started selling afew years ago, but since then they sold out to the big boys- tore the store down- no more local H L dealer. We currently have 26 L E plus the stamp and lady lightkeepers. Bought Holland GLOW, my last one of those.
