Nice pics, Bob, although the angle of the first shot makes it appear that lighthouse is a goner!!

I know someone whose been out on the water in his boat. Great pictures Bob! The shipping chanel sure comes close to Conimicut. I agree that the angle appears to show a collision course. Keep the photos from the water angle coming, I like them.

Looks like you had a nice boating/lighthousing day there Bob! And yes it sure is nice to see these lights from the water without having to pay those high gas prices! smile

I was just coming from filling up my tanks for vacation, which starts this Saturday, when I grabbed a couple of quick pics. I had over a half tank and it only cost $248 to fill it up. Such a deal!

The Providence River Channel does come close to Conimicut Light. Ships that size pass within twenty yards or so of the light if they are running close on the starboard side. That ship was "keeping right" because there was another ship coming up on the light from the opposite direction. The other ship was about an eighth of a mile away when this ship passed the light. He was probably slowing down so they wouldn't pass each other in the narrow channel by the light.

Lighthouse look big until you see a ship passing by.
