I've just come back from a trip, and I saw several lighthouses. Most of them I have identified from The Lighthouse Directory, but there is one that I just can't match up.

We saw it during dinner - we left Copenhagen about 1700, and we passed this lighthouse about 1820

It was a rainy day

This was one I saw from the HOHO bus (hop on hop off bus)

Is it the same as this one which we saw as we left the harbor. I am pretty sure that this one is the Trekroner lighthouse which is mounted on an early 19th century stone fort.

And that this one is Middelgrundsfort Vest

I think this one is Danish Lightship Ten (Fyrskip X) which we also saw from the HOHO bus.

Although it could be one of the other ones.

We also saw several of the little markers on the ends of the jetties

I thought maybe this lighthouse might be Swedish or even German, but I couldn't find it there for sure either

Rosalie,

I went searching back to my trip to the Scandinavian area and I think I took a photo of the same mystery lighthouse back in 2006.

Yes that looks like the same mystery lighthouse to me. And your pictures show the Trekroner lighthouse from both sides which confirms that I saw it twice - once from the bus and once from the ship. Also it looks like the red and green markers at the end of the jetties were photographed by both of us.

I have three lightship pictures and I am sure that the first two are of the same ship. I didn't see the one in the third picture until I was going through my pictures and I don't think it looks like the same location. And the "stem" is white instead of yellow. Does it look familiar to anyone?

The lighthouse in your first picture is Haken Nedre on the island of Ven, which is part of Sweden even though it is not very far from Copenhagen, Denmark. I have seen it several times on cruises out of Copenhagen - about an hour or so after you leave the Copenhagen harbor.

You should find references to it if you look under Sweden and the island of Ven.

I just read further in your post and should have answered the other question at the same time. Oh well.

The third lightship you show at the far left side of your photo is Fyrskib No. XI (Lightship No. 11). It is moored on the Frederiksholm Canal in Copenhagen, very near the Christiansborg Slot (Castle) which houses many of the Denmark government offices.

Here's a link to some more info on it-

http://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/lighthouse/swe3.htm

I used this source to try and id the lights back in 2006. The info was not as complete back then, though.

That's it - Thank you both very much.

I've been sick since I got back with bronchitis and haven't gotten around to the Russian ones yet.
