Bob,

Thanks so much for the great shots. These are all new views for me since I've never seen any of these by boat. Beautiful photos!

I think I need to hire you as my tour guide when I come up there. laugh

Any idea how to get to this light via land? I got as far as the coast down there, to the Castle Hill Inn, but couldn't see the light. Ran out of time and had to head back to the airport. The only shot I could get of it was from across the bay at Beavertail.

Mike,

This one is a little tricky to find. Before you get to the inn, you will see a marina on your right. Park at the marina (parking is free). Across the street from the marina you'll see nothing but trees, but there is a little trail that cuts through the woods. It's about a 1/4 mile walk and when you hit the clearing you'll be able to see the top of the light.

It's a beautiful view there. I hope you get to see it next trip!

Better yet go to the Castle Hill Inn. Park in the back of parking lot and follow the path down to the lighthouse. After, stop in at the Inn for lunch or a drink. Outstanding view of Bay and the harbor! You can also see Beavertail on the outher side but bring a long lens.

Bob's way is probably a lot easier, and he's right, the view is gorgeous. The day I was there, the Inn was closed off for some type of private party and there was no parking. I parked at the marina and cut through the woods. I hope you get to see it next trip.

Becki,

I had the same problem, but was unaware that there was access from the Marina or I would have tried that.

I'll file it away for my next trip up there.

Dennis,

The path from the marina isn't as well marked, but it's an easy walk through there and really close. I did it at sunset and managed not to get lost. Hey..when there's a will, there's a way. laugh

Becki,

Did you get some nice pictures for us to see? Sunset pictures of Castle Hill would be very nice to see. Never been in by the Marina, always by the Inn.

Bert,

It's been awhile since I've posted a picture, and I've never done it on this new site, so I'll try to post one of my sunset pictures. If this doesn't work, I'll have to play around and try back once I get it right. Here goes....

Becki,

Thanks for the great pictures. Posting isn't that difficult once you get the hang of it. Seems you mastered it very well. Don't get out at sunset like I would like to, but it's in my plans for future visits to Rhode Island and Mass lights. Thanks again! Post more pictures, can't help but love them lighthouses.

Here's one I took last Spring. Seems sailboats accomodate us when at Castle Hill. It's really a nice place to enjoy a lighthouse and the ocean.

Great shots Bert and Tim! I have a ton of pictures and I'll be getting more soon as I'll be up that way the week of Oct. 21. I'll post some more when I get some time. Post more of yours, too. I love looking at others' shots!

Great photos. Castle Hill has always been one of my favorites, as is Beavertail.
