Our traditional Thanksgiving eve chat for those who have survived the day. Come and share your "Black Friday" shopping plans. Talk about the great images Harry has shared of our very own Erie Land Light.

10 PM Eastern time

0300 Nov25 Zulu

4 bells

You figure it for your local time

Chat Room

This will be a traditional, clothed chat as I'm not sure we could handle everyone after a day of stuffing themselves.

Actually, Greg, Dave referred to it as Thanksgiving Eve which is tonight; however, he went on to say it is scheduled for Nov. 25 which is Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. I guess he misspoke.

I think Dave meant "Thanksgiving Evening" not "Thanksgiving Eve"

If you look at the entire message you will see that it says 10 PM. That is the same time as 0300Z on Friday morning (remember Greenwich is 5 hours ahead of the east coast).

10 AM would be expressed simply as 1000. If I had used universal time format (or what some refer to as military time) 10 PM would be 2200.

John is correct (and that is scary in and of itself) - some refer to eve as the night before. I tend to also use it in place of evening. That is my bad.

Remember rule 1 is to always read all the directions and the title . . . .

We have become very free with language in our society; I am very guilty of it myself. However, the word "eve" as in the night before and your abbreviation of "eve" for the word evening can be ambiguous. Even so, I realized after I reread the msg. that you were indeed referring to the evening of Thanksgiving, particularly since you referred to how people "survived the day" and wanted to talk about everyone's plans for Black Friday. I can still see how it was confusing to Greg, though.

I checked in late at 10:30 ET and everyone was gone -- or no one showed up. Must be that turkey that put everyone to sleep early.
