The lighthousing machine is packed up and ready to head out on expedition.



Picture this ….. you’re driving down the highway with the windows rolled down, the temperature is in the 70’s, the wind is blowing through your hair, the sun is splashing down on trees that are showing off their fall finery, and your CD player is blaring out the sound of The Doors playing “Come on baby, light my fire” …. IT DOESN’T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT!




So it went, on the trip up to Alpena for the Great Lakes Lighthouse Festival (GLLF). Having set coordinates for Tawas Point into my GPS on Thursday, 10/9, I arrived there without incident.




After leaving Tawas Point, there was a stop off at Sturgeon Point on the way to Alpena. Unfortunately it was closed on Thursday. “Try to set the night on fire …..”




Now it was off to Alpena and stopped by the Alpena Yacht Club. Walked on out the breakwater to photo the Alpena Harbor light (L’il Red). “The time to hesitate is through …..”
