Does anyone know if you can get a decent picture of Pumkin Island in Maine without going on a boat. I have a 70-300 lens

Scroll down as the photos are about halfway down. It was taken with my Panasonic Lumix with the equivalent of a 36-432mm lens. I'd venture to say that the photo was taken at the maximum zoom (12X optical)

Fran, don't know if you're still interested in Pumpkin Island, but following the directions in the Kochel/D'Entremont book (and I think the standard location for viewing), I got this shot with my 75-300:



And for scale, here's my truck parked in the viewing area with the light.
