The Top 5 Places we want to go using the sums of our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd picks (Questions 8, 9 and 10)and making each pick equal were:

Washington -7 4 4 = 15
Oregon -2 6 2 = 10
NovaScotia -3 2 5 = 10
Maine -3 1 4 = 8
Cape Cod -2 1 5 = 8

But
when I did a % of 'first 3 picks' against the total of the 'open category by location' the following was the result.

Washington - 83.33% -15/18
Oregon - 76.92% -10/13
Ireland - 60.00% -9/15
Maine - 47.06% -8/17
All NE - 45.45% -5/11
California - 40.00% -4/10
Cape Cod - 40.00% -4/10

This shows that people who picked the place to go were serious enough to commit to same place in their Top 3 Picks.

Example:
Washington had 7 first places, 4 second places, and 4 third places in overall choices of where you want to go for a total of 15.

Washington in the West Coast Question 1 had a total of 18 votes.

Therefore 15 of the 18 people who voted for Washington in Question 1 thought enough of that selection to rank Washington in the Top 3 Choices in Questions 8, 9, and 10.

We'll do a follow up poll in the near future

Dave has also proved that "If you Organize it, we will come" with his latest Long Island trip. vhappy

Dear Bob

How would you account for Nova Scotia not showing up in the lower list of choices by percent?

One thing that would be great about Washington is to cruise out to the San Juan Islands. Those lights are harder to see than the others since they are more remote. One of the tallships in the area did a lighthouse cruise to the San Juans last year but they aren't doing it this year. It was a 5-day cruise living on the schooner and visiting each of the islands. That would be a great tour to add to the regular Washington lights. Hint, hint, Dave.

That brings us to reverse side of the poll 'by region' which did not have a 'none of the above' option.

Very interesting information Bob, looks like there are several of us who are interested in the West Coast. Thanks for the analysis...should be fun to watch and see what develops.
