Lorna and I were out for a little lighthouse safari on New Year's Day. Here's a couple of pictures of Derby Wharf Light in Salem, MA:

Thanks for posting all your great photos Bob. It was like a walk down memory lane. smile John and I saw all those lights when we stayed in Boston before the Providence HL Reunion in 1998.

I often found New Year's Day as a great time to do pictures as long as the weather is sunny. The weather is usually very cold and the fact it is New Year's Day keeps many people home nursing hangovers or whatever.

It is nice to go to a lighthouse and not have a large group of people milling around and getting in your photos. You may have to wait a bit for a couple of people here and there but usually you can get a few "people-less" pics.

It really was a great day which ended with a great meal as the sun went down. It doesn't get any better than that unless you are in a warmer climate.
