Along with the Beacon from the GLLKA came a highway map published by the State of Michigan.

Features an unidentified lightouse on the cover and a nice spread on half of the back of the unfolded map. A smaller map shows the position of 124 Michigan lighthouses.

You can get one free. Call 888-78-GREAT

Thanks Mombo,

While I was there I also looked into the maps for biking. Great site.

Thanks again.

Thanks Mombo. I also ordered one of these maps. Who knows, with my job I may even need it.

I ordered mine about a week and a half ago, but it hasn't arrived yet. Didn't they say 3 to 5 days for delivery?

For a mere $25 per year you can join GLLKA. 4 issues of The Beacon and the opportunity to participate in 5 conferences (one on each of the Great Lakes) and other trips. You would also have received your map like John did. I noticed in the new issue that our own Jakers is a new member. Look forward to seeing more of your names in future issues!

I got my map Saturday, so now I have a better understanding about all you Michigan WACKOS with 124 lighthouses. It's kind of neat to know where they really are!

My next trip will be to MIchigan. Although it will not be until fall 2000, I ordered the map as the beginning of my planning. That will surely help. Thanks for the info. Let's hope it comes

Pam,
We're still holding out for a Michigan based reunion in 2001. Need to plan the next 2 years trips. Of course, there are more than enough lighthouses in Michigan for a number of extended trips!
