Does anyone know if there are any lighthouses near Montreal? I noticed that it is on the St. Lawrence Seaway but I don't have any books on Canadian Ligthhouses. I will check the internet but thought if anyone has been to any they could give me info on how far away they are.

Carol: "Northern Lights - Lighthouses of Canada" by David Baird features 22 lighthouses in the province of Quebec although they all appear to be much farther east than Montreal. You'd probably have to go at least to Quebec City.

Here is a list of Quebec lights:

I checked two different Montreal Tourism sites and came up emptyhanded.

Even the Canadian Coast Guard site has only archived photos which aren't even labeled but are sort of neat to look at:

There are 245 Canadian lighthouses in the LH Digest database. Guess you'd have to sit down with a good map to see just where those from Quebec are located.

When I tried checking by state under Quebec I thought I might get just those in the province of Quebec but only came up with one light so it must be in the city of Quebec.

Linking to my results doesn't seem to work. Go to Lighthouse Depot site, click Digest, then select Lighthouse Database from the left-hand side.

Well I'm here in Montreal and I actually found a lighthouse (on a postcard so far). It seems it's across from the city on Parc Jean-Drapeau (parc des Iles)accessible by subway. If I have time I may go over there to see it. It would add one more Canadian lighthouse to my scrapbook. Anyone know the name of this one?

Hi Carol,
I will be in Montreal in Sept. Let me know if you find any lighthouses in the area to visit and if they are worth going to see.
