Here are a few pictures of Bristol Ferry Light taken today. This light was deactivated in 1929, yet it amazes me how well it has been taken care of through the years. This would make an excellent gift some year for all members of Harbour Lights. Just the right size too! Bert

This is a nice looking little light, Bert. It sure does appear to be in very good shape, at least outside. I hope that someone trims those trees back before they start to cause problems for the building. Looks like you had a prettier day than we did!

It also appears you had a favorable tide to get those great shots, Bert! I hope you dug a few clams while the tide was out. Bob

Nice photos of this light. Looks like you had a beautiful day. It was cold and cloudy in Lake Elmo, Minnesota yesterday and today.

A bit of history about the Bristol Ferry Light. The lantern room on this lighthouse came from the old Rondout Lighthouse in Kingston, NY after the new (present day) Rondout Lighthouse was built. In 1916, the iron lantern and deck were dismantled from the old lighthouse and shipped to Bristol, Rhode Island, where it was used to replaced the original wooden lantern and deck, which had fallen into disrepair.

Thanks for that info, MIke! That's what makes this forum such a wonderful place. Someone, somewhere has something to share about lighthouses and more. Bert
