Can't believe no one has started this thread yet, but this seems to be a good place. From chats and posts in other places I know there are a number of Forumites planning on going to Cape Hatteras next weekend. I would imagine we will all be at the Bill signing on Saturday. It would be great fun if we could come up with some kind of un-official Wacko gathering to meet each other.

So, who is planning on being at Cape Hatteras next weekend?

We may not be official Wackos but we do plan on being there for the signing. Even better yet, we are staying at the Comfort Inn in Buxton where the signing was moved to.We are looking forward to a wonderful weekend that I'm sure we'll never forget.

I will be at the signing. We are staying in Hatteras on Friday night and hopefully Manteo on Sat. night as we are headed to the tidewater area to see a few lights. My mother and aunt will be with me.

Michael and I will be there. We are staying at the Barrier Island Station in Kitty Hawk. Rick and Cam Rohweder and their two daughters will also be staying there. I am answering for them as they are already on the road and meeting us there on Friday.

If anyone needs a place to stay, contact me, as one of our parties just had to cancel at the last minute and we have a great condo available.

Mt wife and I will be there. We are staying at a friends vacation home in Nags Head. We are driving to Hatteras for the signing event on Saturday then spending Sunday and Monday visiting other lighthouses.

Do believe that Saint Paul is attending- at least he was plotting a route last week. There is also a contingent from Louisville coming- vsnlex & others, I believe,were staying at the Comfort Inn. So, who else will we see??

The BBQ will be held on the beach at the beach home that Betty & John O'Brien and Paul & Sue Brady have rented for the week. I believe there is adequate parking on the property.

I don't have an address yet. But it is on the Ocean side and is the first property north of where Cape Hatteras USED to stand. I believe it is octagonal in shape and is 3 stories on stilts. Paul has an aerial photo showing the house in relation to the former location of Cape Hatteras which he will post right here:

The beach house is called the Dune Crab, it was real close to the lighthouse and then somebody came along and moved the lighthouse! I guess it is still pretty close to the lighthouse, see you there.

We are sorta spoiled on local BarBQ with the famous Peak Brother's BarBQ just 20 minutes down the road...but we will HAVE to check it out Saturday evening

My wife Jackie, and myself will be there, but not until later Saturday as we have a prior commitment. We have rented a beach cottage in Southern Shores, which is approximately 40 minutes north of Buxton. I hope to meet many of you there. I'll wear my HL ball cap!
