I offer this message for the collectors who have visited shops, looked under tables and in corners trying to find an older pieces because we can't stop searching for Harbour Lights.
Last week while in South Carolina on vacation we went into a store and on the shelf was:
101 Admialty Head
103 West Quoddy
108 Burrows Island
109 Cape Blanco
119 Cana Island
125 Portland Head
132 Ponce de Leon
133 Tybee
143 Montauk Point
They were priced at retail and had their original boxes and Admiralty & West Quoddy also had the commemorative stamps.
There were some glows, but I was not interested in them. What was interesting was I was in this store last year and they did not have these pieces. I didn't ask, but I supect they found them in the back.
I guess for the diehards keep looking, you never know whats around the corner.

Warren, ...That's quite a find! Collectors would have been on the phone immediately if not sooner a little while back. I wonder how long before the treasure is discovered the the rarer HL's sold?

Did you buy them or are they still on the shelfs?

To answer the questions, I did purchase the lighthouses that I listed on the initial post. What they had left were basically GLOWS because I asked if there were any others and they said no. In fact, I have doubled checked with them since I returned home.

The store was the Country Gentleman in Charleston in the old market area.

Great find Warren -- which version of Admirality/Admiralty and Burrows (OR/WA) did you find?

Unfortunately, nothing unique about Burrows Is. or Admiralty Head. Burrows Is. is WA & Admiralty has the misspelling which I believe is the most common.
All the pieces had ther original boxes and were in very good shape. What really caught my eye was Portland Head and Ponce de Leon look like they had never send the light of day. They are excellent.
To see them sitting on the shelf was quite an experience. It's enough to keep me looking for a long time.

Good for you Warren. You were in the right place at the right time. I always ask if they have any in the backroom. Was invited into the backroom of a dealer in MA and what a bonanza. Credit card approached melt-down but was well worth it.

I know what your talking about.
I won a bid on ebay for a HL 129 New london Ledge that a dealer just found on his back shelves.
I could not get over the brand new look it had.

Is it just me or do most every NLL have nice coloring? I have a few of them and the colors have remained brilliant through the years. A couple have experienced a little paint rub off, but have not faded at all.

I would say almost all of the Malaysian made HL129 NLL had good color and the only thing I noticed paint chips or flaking was in the water. Now the Canadian made was a different story, there was poor quality control and many of the Canadian made look like they were painted by a five year old. The younger family would constantly send them back to the factory for correction and this particular piece was the main incentive for HL to switch to Malaysia.
