I know Suzanne Murphy and a couple others were working on a lighthouse cruise for the Keweenaw Peninsula in Michigan for August of this year. Does anyone know what the status is of this event or of a similar event?

TWO DAY CRUISE Monday August 2, 2004 and Tuesday August 3, 2004 - 15 LAKE SUPERIOR LIGHTHOUSES

ISLE ROYALE CRUISE on one day and the CRUISE AROUND THE KEWEENAW PENINSULA on another day.

COST: $265.00 per person for both boat trips and meals. Does not include hotel, but we plan to get a block of discounted rooms. More info on this soon.

DEPOSIT: Minimum deposit of $25.00 per person to be received by FEBRUARY 1, 2004 to hold your reservation.

DAY 1 - ISLE ROYALE CRUISE

This trip will go past all lighthouses on Isle Royale and the upper entry on the Houghton canal. It will be a 14 hour day with boarding at 7 a.m. in Houghton, MI and departing at 8 a.m. with continental breakfast, lunch, and dinner aboard. Return will be at approximately 10 p.m. so it will be a long day, but fun.

3. Rock Harbor Lighthouse at Middle Island Passage
4. Passage Island Light - 3 1/2 miles off the northeast end of Isle Royale
5. Blake Point Light on the northeast end of Isle Royale
6. Keweenaw Upper Entry Light

DAY 2 - CRUISE AROUND THE KEWEENAW PENINSULA

Cruise past the ten lights of the Keweenaw Peninsula. Depart 9:30 a.m. from Houghton, Michigan and arrive back at approximately 6:30 p.m. with continental breakfast, lunch, and dinner aboard.

I have heard from Jeff and Linda at Big Bay Lighthouse. They normally have tours available June through September on Wednesday and Sunday @ 1, 1:30 & 2:00 pm reservations are not required.

We can arrange for a group tour or tours on other days if we have more than 10 people interested in touring.

I think the best days would be either Thursday August 5th or Friday August 6th. The times available would be 1:00, 1:30, and 2:00 p.m.
