I just put on my first attempt of a film on You Tube. If is from last year, it includes a distance shot of Jones Point, a close up of Wolf Trap and a some what distance view of New Point Comfort. The rest of the film is from Dave's Portsmouth Trip and includes brief night views of Hog Island Fresnel Lens and the Portsmouth Lightship. Here is the link

Hope you like it.

P.S. The right bottom of the frame will make the picture take up the whole screen for a better view of the details.

Eric, Thanks for posting. I really enjoyed watching your film.

I was able to name most of the lighthouses. Thanks for listing them at the end. I now know the one's I couldn't name. cool

Eric,

Thanks for posting that. I missed out on the trip with Dave- too close to another trip we were taking.

I liked the list at the end but I think it might have been better to do a running commentary on which lighthouse was being shown with a fun fact about each one- especially for those who have little or no knowledge as to which light is which.

Please don't take this as a criticism- just an observation. I don't have a video camera and it may be much more difficult to do what i propose than adding the music like you did.

Neat film Eric, it's rekindled my interest in video of lighthouses that I used to do all the time but recently have gone to photos only.

Dennis, the next one will be better. I haven't learned all the editing tricks yet. I should be able to type the name of the lighthouse over the film and you can do voice overs (don't ask me how, but I will figure it out). I killed the orginal sounds since most of the time it was wind or a bunch or WACKO's talking at the same time. Also future filming will include longer clips so one can focus on the details. Any how thanks for watching and thanks for the input.

Eric,

I figured those were the reasons for doing it the way you did. I'm glad you didn't take my observations the wrong way.

I enjoyed the video very much. I've not seen most of those lighthouses yet.

Eric, for those of us who were there...and talking at the same time, we are grateful you killed the sound.

Besides that, you did better than good with this first try. Look forward to seeing more of this.

Really enjoyed your video Eric. Brought back wonderful memories of the boat trip, even though some of us got a little green. Especially on the way to Chesapeake Tower. frown
