We traveled 465 miles in total and that is why we only got 3 lighthouses in for the day but man was it well worth the trip.
This one, which was our first stop, is my absolutely most favorite lighthouse...look at this picture from my new NIKON D80 camera...
Montauk Lighthouse... http://home.comcast.net/~bobjacon/DSC_0023smaller.jpg
Then we had to find this one...very obscure as we had to hike about a mile inside of a camp ground onto a beach just to get this picture. This is one lighthouse that can really use our help to preserve. It was in very bad shape...
Cedar Island... http://home.comcast.net/~bobjacon/DSC_0038.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~bobjacon/DSC_0039smaller.jpg
Then we ended our last lighthouse here barely getting into the museum at 5:30pm which normally closes at 5:00pm but they had a special event going on that evening which worked out in our favor...very beautiful to see from the beach at dusk...
Fire Island... http://home.comcast.net/~bobjacon/DSC_0052.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~bobjacon/DSC_0045smaller.jpg
What an amazing trip! I am still gleaming over the AWESOME pictures that my new camera takes.
Enjoy the pics!

Great pics, Bob, but they are very large so you can't view the beauty of the whole picture at once. The trick for the whole pic to appear on the screen at once is reducing the size to no more than 550 on height and width. Your best bet would be to reduce the size of a copy of the file so the larger file will remain intact just in case you want to make an enlargement some day. Thanks for sharing! It looks like the weather cooperated. Bob

Thanks Bob...I'll try to resize them and upload the new pics in the morning. My PC automatically sizes the pic to fit my screen...that was why I just left them alone.
We did have good weather although it was very iffy in the morning when we started.

Very nice Bob. If that photo of Cedar Point had been smaller I probably wouldn't have noticed the dog!

I was just taking another look at your photos, Bob. I see you made some adjustments. I can now see the whole pictures without scrolling side to side, and up and down. Keep those pics coming! Bob

Cedar Point... http://home.comcast.net/~bobjacon/DSC_0038.jpg BB BB, Yes this is a bit of a walk- which I've never done. I saw it from cruise during the first LI LH challenge in 2005. It actually looks better than it used to- the LI Chapter of the US LH Society raised enough money to restore the Oil House (which can't be seen in this photo). They are hoping to do much more in the future. Here's a photo I took of the Oil House from the boat- with a great view of my door. Nice photos of the 3 lights. Time can be a problem on LOOONG Island especially in the warmer months with half decent weather. Dennis

BB I suspect it is only 'fitting' the image to fit your window, not actually resizing the picture. If you rest your mouse on the picture and you get an icon in the lower right area of the picture, then you click on that icon, your picture will alternate between 'full size' and 'fit to window'. Bob M notes you should preserve your original pictures. One way you can do that is to select a group of the original pictures, right click on one of them and choose "read-only". This means you will be able to open the file, but you won't be able to save it after modifying it.

I only had one day to spend on LI on my trip to the East Coast in June, and would have loved to have seen Cedar Island. Great evening light on Fire Island, too!

A Nikon D80 with a 35mm-150mm lens. A great combo lens for many multi-use applications.
