This past Saturday I went on the Lower Chesapeake Bay Cruise with the Chesapeake Chapter of the USLHS. Overall, the trip was pretty good except that the weather was lousy. At several points in the trip we were stuck in a driving rain storm. I can't seem to buy luck this year on my lighthousing trips. So far I am 2/2 with terrible weather on both cruises. Unfortunately, because of the weather, we weren't able to get to see new point comfort. It is a little dissapointing for me since it was one of the last few lights on the Bay that I haven't seen yet.

Now the good news. I won the raffle that benefited the chapters preservation fund. The prize was HL LE Lady Liberty. So, after investing $5 on raffles tickets, I came out with a $125 prize. So after all the bad weather, it was a nice prize that brightened my day.

Now onto the pictures....

Bryan, your pictures are very nice, despite the weather. It's really neat to see these lights. Thanks. And I'm glad you found something better to do than wash your car!

Thanks for sharing the pictures, Bryan. Too bad you didn't have the same weather we had in Chicago! Getting close to your 40 + 3 designation?

Hey Bryan, ...Sorry to hear about the lousy weather, but congrats on winning Lady Liberty!

I can't comment on your pictures because they are not there at this moment. I'm just getting the little red "x" instead of the picture.

Dave(and others),

By the end of the summer, I will have seen 35 of the lights and all 3 lightships. Not bad for only 3 years worth of lighthousing in the Chesapeake.

The ones I still need to see are:

Fishing Battery, MD
Solomons Lump, MD
Cape Charles, VA
Chesapeake Light Tower, VA
New Point Comfort, VA
