You did a nice job with the pictures, Ruthie. Thanks for sharing. Why the construction fence around Point Cabrillo?

Great pictures Ruthie. MJ and I just arrived home Thursday evening (from the extra week we took to do more of Washington) and I hope to share some shots once I down load them. It will be awhile since I finished out at over 5,000 images. It was really great to share two weeks with you and all of the other lighthouse lovers on the trip of a lifetime.

Well I've been very very busy, but here are a few of the 1200 photos I took on this trip.

All I can say is, WOW! I really like that black and white of Pt Arena. Very Striking. This fall I'll be going to a dozen or so of the lights you've shown, and the anticipation is killing me.

These pictures are great. I guess you got inside the Construction Fence at Pt. Fermin.

It was tough to get a good shot without it while we were there on 7-6.

Is the fourth picture San Luis Obispo?

Looks like the Red Team outnumbered the Blue Team- at least in that picture.

Ruthie & Eric,

Thanks to both of you for sharing the photos! I enjoyed them all. I really like the photos with the palm trees in them. And Eric's black and white photo is great.

Eric, Did you get to tour Gray's Harbour? I checked ahead of time and told that they would be open for tours. It took us longer to get there than expected. Unfortunately they didn't have enough volunteers in 2001 to do tours every day. And we almost missed our flight back.

Dennis, Yes the Reds out numbered the Blues. The Fourth Picture is San Luis Obispo. And yes we did get inside the fence; in fact we got to climb Pt Fermin.

Tammy, yes we did get to climb Gray's Harbor, but they would not let us carry our cameras up the tower, as they did not wont any damage to their very, very unique Fresnel lens.

BTW thanks for the comments on the Black and White photo, I got to admit that B&W is not my favorite media. I prefer Sepia tones and here is that same Pt Arena shot in Sepia and in color. (Ok That's the reason I took over 1200 pictures, a lot of them where duplicates in various tones).

PT Arean Sepia

Eric,

Thanks for the responses.

I think the B&W version is the best of the 3 of Pt Arena.

Did you only get to see San Luis Opispo from the Ocean or did you get to see it from land also?

It's one I've never seen either way. We did our own version of your West coast Trip a few years ago (although we got only from San Diego to Coquille, OR)

Some great shots, everyone- Eric, the Point Arena shots all are good. We'll be staying in one of the houses there a couple nights the last week of August, looking forward to that! We hope to see most of the lights in the Bay area that week.
