I finally got time to deal with my photos from last weekend on Cape Cod.
The 2007 NELL Hot Chocolate & You event was another smashing success- and yes the weather was a bit iffy.
We actually manged to get to this NELL Event- we've had to cancel out of several over the past couple of years for various reasons.
We drove up to Eastham on Friday and spent the first of 3 nights at the Four Points by Sheraton right on Rt.6 in Eastham. This was a great choice- not a bad price, indoor and outdoor pools, nice restaurant for breakfast and the hotel general areas and the rooms are in very good shape. It's also fairly convenient to get around most of Cape Cod- Wood's Hole is a bit far but other than that it's not bad.
We ate dinner at a very nice restaurant called the Fairway (golf theme but not on a golf course).
We ran into some NELL members at the hotel that night.
We got up bright and early and went to breakfast at the hotel and ran into many NELL members- some we knew some we didn't.
We left the hotel and drove over to Chatham for our first stop of the day. the "showers" were looking like one continual shower just changing from light to medium and back.

We got some info on the light- and earlier ones- at the bottom of the tower while waiting to ascend. There was another guide at the top to give us more history of the lighthouse and where the other light ended up- our next stop Nauset.
The weather made it difficult to see out of the lantern room due to the condensation. Here's a couple of shots from the lantern room of Chatham.

We stayed here for a short bit talking to other NELL members and then made our way over to our next stop- Nauset.

There again were volunteers here to give us the history of Nauset lighthouse. Unfortunately we were not able to climb to the lantern room here- only to the lower deck of the LH.
It had been hoped that the Christmas decorations at the lighthouses would have remained for our visit but unfortunately with the good weather preceeding our visit the volunteers took advantage of thier good fortune to take the decorations down.
We left Nauset and proceeded down the 1/3 mile path to the Three Sisters which had originally been constructed on the cliff where the Nauset LH was until it had to be moved to save it.
The three sisters had been sold to local families who incorporated them into thier cottage parks. Unfortunately 2 out of the Three sisters lost thier lantern rooms at this point.
We again got a nice history lesseon and had a chnce to see some photos of the different places that the three sisters were placed.

We got to speak with a number of NELL members here as well.
We left here and moved on to Highland (Cape Cod) Lighthouse.
