My girlfreind and I are off on a weekend adventure to Savannah this weekend. Naturally we are going to make a stop at Tybee (haven't seen it since the new paint scheme) and venture as far out on Cockspur Isalnd as possible to get a closer look. The last time I was there (May 98), I was not able to get as close to the lighthouse as I would have liked to. Anyway, I was wondering how far of a drive it is to St Simons from Savannah? St Simons has always been one of my favorite lighthouses and would love to see it in person.
Any help would be appreciated!

Should be able to do both easy in a day. I went from Savannah to St Augustine in a day, seeing Tybee, Cockspur, St. Simons, Amelia Island & both Jacksonville lights. If I remember, ought to be able to go from Tybe to St Simons in a couple of hours.

We'll be not too far behind you. Leave tomorrow afternoon for Savannah and then to Charleston. Will also do the St Simons loop one day.
