I'd never visited the NJ Site.

Probably because I just kind of thought I did not need to. It's a great site. Very informative.

I do try and make sure everyone who comes to Sandy Hook while I'm there leaves with as many of the brouchures we have, but especially the NJ Lighthouse Brochure. It's one of the best around. It's loades with info and how to get to the Lighthouses.

I never noticed before but the maps at AAA show the location of many lighthouses. The tour books list them also. They don't include all of them in a state usually, but they usually list the major ones.

Just look in the back of the book in the list of attractions, etc.

I must now disclose that I am a Travel Counselor at AAA.

I am also planing to visit the NJ lighthouses on the reunion trip. I was looking at a few web sites and ran across this web page about the New Jersey Lighthouse Challenge and a link to this page with driving directions to all the New Jersey Lighthouses (that you can drive to) from that page you can download a Microsoft word file or an Adobe pdf file. These directions will come in very handy on my trip. If you are using Word Perfect you should be able to open the MS Word document too. And here is the link to the original page that led me to the others (because the link buttons don't work on the challenge page)

I've been checking the NJLHS Website for that update.

I guess i missed it, or have not been there lately.

The directions that are listed are refined from last years efforts. A letter was sent to each Lighthouse involved to give directions to the Lighthouse before and the Lighthouse after in Geographical order.

We had some problems last year with people getting from one to the other. The directions can be modified with a good NJ map.

Anyone who is a AAA member send me an e-mail with your member number and I'll send you out a packet of maps of NJ and the tour book.

Dennis

Yes, ya'll will want to pick up a copy of the guide. I've had mine for awhile now. I must have handed out a ton of them yesterday while giving tours at Sandy Hook.
As far as the Challenge weekend goes...it was a lot of fun last year despite the driving directions. I was a bit impaired as I was the driver and navigator for my trip. I couldn't get anyone to go with me. However, I did make it to all of the lights. The directions are much better this year so you shouldn't have any problems. Hope to see some of you out there.

Thanks for the info! I received my copies of the NJ info and lighthouse guide in the mail last week! I plan to bring the lighthouse guide with me to Baltimore for the bus trips.

I requested the NJ lighthouse info and all I received was a NJ map. Is this everything they send out?

I got the map, lighthouse guide and beach guide in one envelope. Then a few days later another catalog came. Then a few days after that a NJ events catalog came.
