Much better weather today!!


As we cruise out of the harbor towards the tour of Raspberry Island Lighthouse, our room is the third from the right side of the image on the second floor.. That's where I shot the sunrise from at 5:30 AM, almost didn't have to get out of bed to shoot it!


There were quite a few sailboats out on the lake this mornig..


The white dot or dots right under the middle of the flag is the Raspberry Island Light as we aproach the island..


I am sure happy that Harbour Lights is releasing Raspberry Island Light this year (coming out soon)!



I had to shoot these little flowers on the way up the stairs to the light..

First up is the fog building...


Next the fog building from the lantern room..


Then I thought I would take you on a little walkabout around the light and its grounds. Enjoy, we did!!!

Then back to Bayfield and a wonderful lunch at the Old Rittenhouse Inn.. didn't have time last night to try the 5 course candlelight dinner but made sure we ate lunch there today!!



This Violet was sitting in the window right next to me.. boy did they pick the right person to seat there..


The flowers were beautiful all around the house and grounds..


A quick stop at the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore Visitor Center to see the Fresnel and then back to the room to upload this images to the forums!

Thanks again for sharing your beautiful pictures Paul. Did you take the Grand Tour when you saw the 3 lighthouses? John and I are going to take that tour a week from Friday. I wish we could somehow get out to stop at Raspberry Island in the afternoon. The inner island shuttle only goes at 9:30 in the morning which is the same time as the Grand tour.

The tour that we took to see the three lighthouses was the Sunset Tour which runs on Wednesdays and Fridays, I believe..

I'm so glad you like to stop and smell the flowers. Thanks again for sharing.

Thanks for the kind words.. I will probably be off-line the next couple of days as we are staying at Sand Hills Lighthouse and not have acess to phone lines.. Day Seven and Eight will just have to wait!
