Thanks for sharing, Bryan. Half expected to see the defensive concrete barriers up to delineate the county lines (tic).

I hope you didn't have to go to the restroom while you were there... Did you climb the tower, I think it is one of the nicest looking tower on the inside that I have ever climbed.. Nice work on the images, Bryan!
Onward to The Land of the Midnight Sun!

Beautiful photos, Bryan...thanks for posting them! Life goes on as normal at the Currituck Beach Lighthouse...despite dirty politics! Judy

We dropped by the offices of the OBC Tuesday to see Melody and were treated to a tour of the interior of the Keeper's dwelling at the Currituck Beach Lighthouse by Jen & John Barr, the new keepers. The OBC has done a magnificant job on the inside...just as they have with the exterior, and the lighthouse, and other dwellings within the complex. If you've ever seen the pictures of what condition it was all in when they first found it...it's just totally amazing to see it now. It was built to house the keeper & his family on one side, and the assistant keeper & his family on the other side, but at one time housed two assistant keepers on one side. There is even a bedroom where ghosts have been reported. It is furnished to period, but when the dwelling was found it was falling apart and had been stripped by the townspeople. Only one original door remains. A totally unexpected treat to go inside, and one that will be remembered fondly! Judy
