I think i have the sizing and uploading problems licked. We'll see. Here's some pictures from NH, ME,MA and RI Lighthouses. The weather was very foggy for these pictures, some more than others. Let's start with Portsmouth Harbor and Whaleback. Moving on to ME we have Cape Neddick. Followed by Goat Island (believe me there's a lighthouse there) Next we Cape Elizabeth (both of them) Followed by Portland Head and Rams Island Ledge More to come. Dennis

Here's the next bunch of pictures. Still in the fog here. Portland Breakwater "Bug" Light Spring Point Ledge Now on to MA Newburyport Front and Rear Range Lights Newburyport Harbor (Plum Island) Light Here's an interesting looking house on the footprint of an old clam shack outside on the way to Plum Island. I learned that the locals call it the Howard Johnson's House because of the tin roof. That's it for now.

Now for some Block Island Lights Here's Southeast Block Light Here's where it originally stood. Here's a view from the top of Southeast Block Here's the bulb that gives it it's signature. Here's a shot of the stairs. Here's a shot taken from the Mohegan bluffs Overlook. Here's a picture of the Mohegan Bluffs Beach from the Overlook. And for something different- a picture of our Corner Room on the 2nd floor of the National Hotel. More to come.

Now for North Block Light Here's the original Lens for North Block Light. We went back at night and caught the sunset here. Here's one I got from the Block Island Ferry on the way back to Galilee. Here's one of Pt Judith from the Ferry. Here's a couple of other RI Lights Warwick Light Conimicut Light with Nyatt Point Light in the background (barely seen in this size of the picture) And that brings us to this one last picture that I'll call "Can you guess what this person is doing?"

Great pictures Dennis. I like the fog.
I have just one question....what the big '350' at Cape Neddick? It makes it look like a driving range!

Great pictures Dennis! And, yes, you have mastered the preparation of images on the Internet!
The fog adds a sense of mystery to the lighthouse photos -- and shows them when they were needed most.

I really enjoyed your pictures here Dennis. You captured the eerie feeling of the fog as it nestles in around everything........Great!! An I love the one of North Light with the golden sky. Thank you for sharing them with us all.

Larry,
It signifies the 350th anniversary of the York, ME area being settled.
John I ordered that fog especially for that reason.
The man in the last picture actually is flying a kite. You can just see the string if you look hard. He almost looks like he's doing a "Tarzan" yell or just beating his chest. It's actually Providence in the background. the picture was taken at the park at Conimicut Point.
The only pictures I did any manipulation (other than sizing) of were the pictures of Whaleback, Rams Ledge and Goat Island. They were even harder to see without some changes.
Thanks for the comments.
It took a bit of hit and miss and help from others, but I think I figured out the way to do it.

Have really enjoyed looking at your photos Dennis. It's fun "re-visiting" a few of the ones we saw in April. Guess we missed that strange looking place on the way out to Plum Island!
Driving range, very funny Larry! 350?! I couldn't hit the broad side of a lighthouse at that distance. I'd be lucky to clear the water! Yes, York is a very old place. I remember that it looked old the last time we were there and it was only around 330 then!

Thanks for all the nice comments.
I'm going to take the Delaware Bay Lighthouse Cruise this weekend. I hope to get some nice pictures of the last NJ Lighthouses that I have not seen yet.
Unfortunately, my son went to CA last Friday and took his camera with him. He gets home Saturday about 1 hour after we have to leave. I'll have to use the old point and shoot 35mm with the mini zoom (70mm).
Hopefully we'll get real close to those Lighthouses.

Great shots Dennis! Even some LHs that I need to see, and many I want to revisit. Love North Block Sunset. The guy with his arms in the air is (besides sweating through his shirt) conducting a band? Bob

Bob,
No, as guessed by someone else he's flying a kite.
You can just make out the string in the picture and just a little of the tail is showing off to the bottom left.
We lucked out on the Sunset. We finished our dinner just at the right time to drive out to North Block to get some nice shots.
That was one of the best- in my wife's opinion. Block Island is a nice place to visit. Don't expect great amounts of excitement but it's great for relaxing.
Don't worry if you like to ride bikes or mopeds instead of driving the car/truck drivers are mostly very courteous to others.

I loved all of your pictures, Dennis!! They are beautiful, even the foggy ones. I especially liked the one of Southeast Block Island - it is such a beautiful building. Beaconfollower and I are going to see that one this weekend after we finish Cape Cod. I hope that I get some pictures that will be half as good as yours!

Hey Dennis, ... Are you sure that's fog in those photos? I think you got out of your "ice cold" car into the heat and that's actually condensation on the lens. (lol) Thanks for sharing your photos with us, they're great! Bob

Thanks for sharing the great pictures, Dennis. We're going up to Maine in a week, and now I'll stop worrying about the weather. Your shots in the foq are among the best of the lot! Have a good time on the Delaware Bay Lighthouse cruise . . . but are there really New Jersey Lighthouses you haven't seen yet? Bruce

Bruce,
This is the first time i will see the 6 lights that are in the Delaware Bay that you get to on this cruise.
I've never been able to schedule a trip on this cruise. I got a flyer from the NJLHS about their trip and my day was open so I decided to go for it.
It'll be a long day 3 hr drive to Cape May 5 hr cruise and a 3 hr drive back. Good thing my wife will be along to split the driving- no we just have to figure out who drives when.
I'm hoping my son gets in from the airport brefore we take off so I can get the digital camera back from him.
Have fun up in Maine.
Dennis

Thanks so much for the great photos, Dennis. My pictures of Whaleback and Ram's Ledge are exactly like yours--completely fogged in, demonstrating the need for lighthouses. Does anyone have a clear shot of Whaleback? I would love to do the Isle of Shoals boat ride without the fog. When will that be? -Scott
