My Tawas Point C of A points out that the tower has a ten-sided roof to match the shape of the lantern room. Unfortunately, the model itself doesn't. I could have sworn that I've seen that mentioned elsewhere. Which one is the error- certificate or model?

Looking at my various Michigan lighthouse books, the Tawas Point lantern appears to have a roof that exactly matches the lantern room. Appears to be 10 panes, 10 sections of rook (well, I can see five in any given picture and that appears to be one half of the roof.)

I think the model may be incorrect. In checking photos I took several years ago,it appears the lantern room has more than eight sides as does the model.
My photos are from the State Park side and you can see 5 panes pretty clearly.
We'll make it a point to count carefully when we make a trip up there.

Uh oh...a historical inaccuracy?? I believe the Harbour Lights handbook says that, in the event a retired piece is found to be inacurate, it must go into "super retirement," and the value automatically doubled.
