Continued from the launch of the new Mackinaw...

On our way from Green Bay to Door County, we passed by the Green Bay Harbor Entrance Lighthouse.. A little hard to see white against the ice, but a nice start to a afternoon of lighthousing...

I decided the main goal today was to get some nice shots of Cana Island with a blue sky... Every other time we have gone to Cana Island Light, it has ended up pouring down raining.. One the way you go through Bailey's Harbor, so I stopped and took a couple of quick shots the the range lights..

The snow kind of helps guide you down the path..

Cana Island with blue sky... yippee!

Nice day, nice Fresnel!!

Cana has always been one of my favorite towers.. I love the pattern of the ridges..

Next we went back towards Bailey's Harbor and stopped at a viewing location where you can see Old Bailey's Harbor Light's tower rise above the trees on an private island, not much left..

You have to drive by the other range light, so I got the reverse view of the two lights..

My second goal was to get some nice blue sky shots at the Sturgeon Bay Pierhead Light.. When you visit the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal Light Station, you have to walk on the road to get to the Pierhead light but this affords you great access to the tower on the way by..

The Pierhead light looks great and will make a great Harbour Lights Lighthouse!

I walked out to the end to get some closer angles and got this one with the neat reflection from the lanternroom in the water..

It was a little cool with a slight breeze but it was a great day for lighthousing..

And fishing after I got out there, Reggie said he had three get away before I got there but while I was shooting some images I heard him shout, "All Right!" When I turned around he was all ready netting his prize Brown Lake Trout.

On the way back to the car I had to walk by the tower once again got these shot on the way by of the lanternroom..

Dunlap Reef Rear Range Light's house is now located on Fourth Avenue in Sturgeon Bay and is being used as a regular residence in town..

Continued on Southeastern Wisconsin Lighthouses on the way home..

The last house is the lighthouse without lantern room from Dunlap Reef.

Bob, the new Nikon arrived at the store the day we were driving up to Marinette for the launch, it is waiting for me at the store in Indy on Tuesday!

I will add the captions tonight or tomorrow morning when we get home. I am on the slowest AOL connection ever right now and we are going to swing by a few more Wisconsin Lights on the way home, today..

The Dunlap Reef Lighthouse makes one wonder how many other houses one has driven past that might have been a lighthouse in their youth..

It looks like you found Cana Island on a very nice day - blue sky and all!

Nice catch! Did he get that fishing on the pier?

Is that first light Green Bay Harbor Entrance light? We stopped to view Peshtigo Reef light on the other side of the Bay. We discussed trying to find a good vantage point for Green Bay Harbor Entrance light from that side also.

Beautiful pictures Paul! Looking forward to your captions so that I can get to know what lights you visited. That's a nice looking fish also. I'm guessing from the colors that its a Lake Trout. Could be wrong!
