After much researching and a lot of help from friends here on the forums (Hi Derith & Dennis & Jim) we are almost ready for our trip to the West Coast.
We are leaving Saturday -- January 27th and flying into Portland. Very early Sunday we are off to North Head and Cape Disappointment. We were originally going to go to Grays Harbor first, but the tower is closed due to lead paint and the museum doesn't open until 12:00.
After that, it's down the whole coast of Oregon. We are staying at Haceta Head B & B and across from Coquille at the Lighthouse B & B.
Then we will eventually make our way towards San Francisco. On Friday night, we will be staying at East Brothers light. Then we will try to see as many lights as we can around San Fran. Don't know about Yerba Buena -- still trying to get permission from the Admiral to visit his light. If anyone has clout with the Admiral of the Coast Guard's 11th District, please put in a good word for us.
We will leave for home on Thursday, February 8.
We will be keeping a log and you guys will be subjected it to when we get back, but we won't have any way of posting it until we get back. Mike bought me a log book with a lighthouse on it for Christmas so I could keep the log.
If anyone has any last minute suggestions or comments, please let us know.
Thanks.
