It's Back! I had intended to have another opportunity drawing for an Erie Land Light before now, but better late than never. And to help make up for being so long, we have decided that there will be two pieces in the drawing and two winners. One Artist Proof and one single digit piece. First name drawn will get their choice of which piece. Second person gets the "left overs" . . . .

Here's the scoop:

• This opportunity drawing will run thru the end of July.
• Opportunities will be $5 each or 5 for $20, same as last time.
• Payment may be sent by check or you can use the PayPal buttons on this page . Don't worry about the dates listed on the page - John will change the dates when he gets a chance.
• I will hold a drawing on approximately August 1st.
• We must sell at least $100 worth of opportunities or the drawing will be delayed until we have reached that amount. Don't think this will be an issue, but we just have to have a disclaimer.
• You will not receive a ticket, but will receive an email confirmation when I receive your payment.
• PLEASE print legibly!
• Winners will be notified either by email or phone. Once the first winner has decided which piece they wish, both names will be published here in the Collector Forums.

Checks need to be made out to me and mailed to:

Done and done.

Dave- by the way can I interest you in a chance for the NELL Drawing. $5 or 6 for $25?

There are some very nice prizes involved. You can purchase the tickets from any NELL member. did I mention I'm a NELL member? laugh

I'm not trying to confuse people- I know there's only one letter seperating the ELL and the NELL drawings.

(Full disclosure time- the NELL member who sell the most tickets and the second highest amount wins a prize as well)

Dennis

The order page and confirmation (payment) page have been updated to reflect the two prizes.

My ticket purchase has been made.

Good initial response for this drawing - Thanks! I will be sending out an email to all those who did purchase an ELL so they are aware of the drawing even if they have not visited lately.

Thanks to all who have supported this drawing. This is a fantastic opportunity to own a single digit or an AP . . . . such a decision the first winner will have. Will that person be you???

I plan to do this drawing on the morning of August 1st. If you have not yet purchased your tickets there is still time, but you need to do so now. If you plan to send me a check, please let me know it is on the way so that I can enter you into the drawing even if your check isn't here on time.

Great sales so far, so thanks to everyone who has purchased. Good luck to everyone!

Wow... Can't believe it has been about 5 years since being on the forums and you still had my id and password. Just threw in for the contest. Glad you guys are still around. Still have my collection, just haven't purchased any in about 4 years...

Bob,

Thanks. Glad to see you still in the forums. It's not that I didn't want to buy any, just been out of work off and on since 2001. Seem to have a steady job now... Look forward to snooping around again.

I held the drawing this morning at 0900 as planned. I have been waiting all day to hear back from the winner as to his choice. I hope he isn't on vacation. I was able to speak with the second winner so she knows she is in line for either an AP or single digit, whichever the winner passes on. (Not a bad deal for 'leftovers' . . .)

Thanks to everyone's generosity, we will realize about $850 on this opportunity drawing. (Won't have specific figure until I have shipped the pieces.) Half the amount will be added to the fund to support the Collector Forums server bill, the other half will be added to our preservaton grants fund. BTW, I will be announcing some additional preservation grants very soon.

The winner is Thomas Poulos of Nesconset NY. Runner up is Judy Rath (Sunshine) of St. Louis.

I heard from Thomas this afternoon, and he has chosen the AP. Guess Judy will just have to tough it out and be happy with a single digit ELL. Congratulations again to both, and thanks to everyone who participated.

Actually, if I would have been fortunate enough to win the raffle, I would have chosen the single-digit flag#. Those are really, or should I say extremely, hard to come by.

AP's are great but more easily accessible than single-digit flag#'s.

Thanks for running a great and successful raffle, Dave!

Congratulations to Thomas and Sunshine! What was the single-digit number she won?

Choosing between a single-digit and an AP I think would be pretty tough. True, obtaining a single-digit is rare, but in comparison to an AP where a lower than usual number were produced? Is that a true statement?? I don't recall if we ever were told how many ELL AP's were made? Not the usual 12-18 I'm sure.

I would have choosen the single digit piece before the AP.

There were 12 APs in all. Sunshine will receive #3 (not AP3).

Well given that 12 APs were made, I'd have to change my vote and go for a single-digit as well.
