I read some place that there was a cruise going to Martha's Vineyard and then a tour of the island. But, of course, I can't remember where I read it - anyone have any ideas? I have never been to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket and would love to see them.

On Sunday May 16, 2004, if you are not going to be attending the Closing Event with Harbour Lights, you can enjoy a wonderful day trip over to Martha's Vineyard and visit Gay Head Lighthouse, Edgartown Lighthouse, West Chop Lighthouse And East Chop Lighthouse. The tour will depart from Hyannis aboard the Hyline Ferry the Brant Point at 9:2 0 am you will arrive on the island just before 11:00 am and from there you will be whisked away on a bus tour of the island. The boat departs back to Hyannis at 3:45 pm. The price of the tour, which includes the Hyline Roundtrip ticket and the 3 1/2 hour bus tour is only $40.00 per person! Space is VERY limited, as there is only space for 47 people on this tour. You'll take home a wonderful souvenir of your journey to the Vineyard, included with the price of the trip as well. This is a special chartered trip, not normally offered in season. Designed with the lighthouse enthusiast in mind!

Hope that answers your questions! smile

Marblehead, Mass. Lighthouse, you will always have a very special place in our hearts. ....We've made the journey as far south as New Jersey, as far north as Canada. Over 100 lighthouses visited.... and so many more to go.

Carol, if you take this trip you will also get distant views of the East Chop and West Chop lighthouses as you enter the harbor at Vineyard Haven.

That sounds great as I have not seen either of these lights. I will have to wait and see if I can make it there. Anyone else maybe going on this trip?

Seems like a great trip, but I don't understand why they are not including East and West Chop. Must have something to do with the time element.

According to the group that sets up the tour that is the way the itinerary is usually set, I can inquire as to maybe enhancing the tour with more lighthouses.

The tour HAS been enhanced - you will now see 4 of the lighthouses on the Vineyard. I have changed the information on the webpage and in my post above. smile
