Haven't been posting much lately..but made a short weekend trip to Virginia this past weekend. There are only a few lights I have not seen in the Chesapeake, and I marked off one light and a lightship. We started in Newport News at the Mariner's Museum and that wonderful Fresnel just inside the door. The map that they light up showing all the lights and commentary is interesting. Then on to Portsmouth via 664 and a fleeting glimpse of Middle Ground... The Lightship Portsmouth was closed, but the weather was great for photos.

I was traveling with my mother and aunt, who has a new car. But, I must say that the car must have been possessed on the way back to Newport News on 664. Three times, the car had a photographer emergency and we had to pull over in the incident lane. We stayed with the car as the sign told us too and when we felt safe, we pulled back out into traffic. One of these days, I will get up close and personal with that light.
