On a post card from a New Jersey Dealer announcing a "Bill Event"

" We'll have available the 2002 event piece
- Mark Twain Memorial Lighthouse - along with the new release of New Jersey's
- Absecon Lighthouse - "

Looks like we can add Absecon as another 2002 release?

This possibillity has been circulating for awhile.

I know at least one person who will be estatic- Elenor Viet who is in the NJLHS and is very involved with the day to day activities at Absecon.

She's been lobbying Bill for years to make Absecon.

She takes it very personally that they ahve not made "her" Lighthouse yet. She's a very nice lady who works tirelessly for Absecon and all Lighthouses.

I'll also be happy about it. Based on John's post of a day or so ago we have less than a week to know the answer to this question.

I heard this 'rumor' from one of the reps who were at the spring regional event. Also, if you check out the events list that came with the last legacy, I beleive there is an event sometime in June at the lighthouse. So it does make me wonder.....

Sounds like a great one, and I hope it's true! Have we had a tall one lately? Here's a few links of the real thing ...

I wonder which of it's six color scheme's they are going to use:

1857-brick color
1871-white with a 52' red band in the middle
1898-orange-black-orange bands
1907-a black band, sandwiched between yellow on the bottom and top, including the lantern
1948-white-blue-white
1970's-white-red-white
1998-back to the yellow-black-yellow

Check out the cool rollover simulation on the Official Absecon Lighthouse Page:
http://www.abseconlighthouse.org/pages_(welcome_&_general)/DaymarkRollovers.html

I hope they include the keeper's dwelling as well.

I don't know, this sounds like a gamble to me. So I wouldn't bet the farm if the rumor has been around for awhile.
Sorry can't help myself, it is Atlantic City after all.

Where do I sign up to order one? I remember my dealer showing me a picture of Bill at the top about 2 yrs ago. Must have been his onsite research visit.

If Harbour light follows their tradition, the L.E. will come out with the Popular and well-known color, white-red-white. Then after it retires they will bring out a glow with the modern colors, yellow-black-yellow. The past examples are:

Cape May
Cape Florida

I like the one with blue and the one with orange. Either of those versions would certainly make this light stand out from the rest! This one would make a great candidate for a "paint your own" lighthouse. Should it come with a set of paints and brushes?
