While visiting St. Augustine lighthouse on vacation last week, got into a Harbour Lights discussion with the manager of the gift store. She informed me that Harbour Lights will be introducing a new version of St. Augustine next March to coincide with the event happening at the lighthouse (don't recall what she said it was)and possibly a Harbour Lights "meeting" as she called it (Regional?)
She said the new version will include the tower, keepers house as well as the main building, where the gift shop is located. I asked her if it would be a G.L.O.W or and L.E, and she said "Oh, I'm pretty sure its going to be limited edition"
I'm thinking more G.L.O.W., but you never know.

I bet it will be a limited edition. If so it will be the Event Piece. Harbour Lights has learned by the ST. Cape George verses Southeast Block that the sales are in remaking of a popular L.E., not in a less popular never produced piece. I feel that from now on most likely all event pieces will be remakes of popular lights.

Interesting..... Do we really need another version of St. A's? It hasn't moved or been changed as far as I know.
I would guess another version would be a GLOW and not a limited edition. There are many popular lights that haven't been sculpted.
 Bob

I'm with you Bob, as much as I like St. Augustine I think one LE of a piece that hasn't moved or been rebuilt is enough. If the rumor is true I hope it will be a lighted GLOW with a little character because the present GLOW is UGLY!

Maybe a lighted L.E. regional piece? From the looks of it, there's only going to be two regionals next year, St. Augustine and San Francisco, at the RELIEF lightship. Maybe there will be two event pieces next year, the new St. Augustine and the RELIEF lightship. I'm betting Bob M. and a few others would like a regional lightship!
Just thinking.....

I'm in agreement with those who say that one LE of St. Augustine, or any other light for that matter, is enough. My wallet's getting thin and my curios are bulging. Dan

Well, just so any new members don't think that I like GLOWS, I want to set the record straight. GLOWS are lower in the pecking order, in my opinion of course, then the now defunct Spencer Collins lighthouses.

Kim was at Edgwater Treasures in Jacksonville on Saturday and indicated that there would be an event piece for each of the Regionals next year. She indicated that the Relief was already complete although she hadn't seen it yet and that the St. Auggie would be an LE with all of the buildings as it is now. When asked if it would be lighted she smiled and indicated that she really didn't know because it was not finished yet.

It seems like whenever Kim responds to a question with a smile...it means, "yes, you've hit it on the nose, but I'm not going to say so...yet!"

Observing a person's "body language" is an accurate way to determine if they're telling the truth or trying to lead you away from something they don't want to tell you. I belive your assumptions are correct. Bob
