I heard a couple of rumors today, but I can not reveal my source. Heard that the Statue of Liberty might be a lighted piece. Might be? and also that it will be issued as a GLOW after next year. Also heard that HL might be producing the Barcelona Lighthouse in western NY. Remember that these are just rumors. I wonder if anyone else has heard the same? "TheLightkeeper"

"Stand beside her, and guide her, Through the night with a light from a bulb."
I've not heard those rumors, however the SOL lamp looks quite bright, almost yellow, in the pictures posted here - as though it is lit.
Barcelona? Definitely gets my vote. It would make a fantastic model with its stone work tower. Today the real light, residing on private property, is missing its lantern room and looks a tad forlorn. It would be great to see a model of Barcelona as it looked while in duty. If I recall, it was the first light to use natural gas which was piped in from a local source.

I'm very, very doubtful that SOL will have a light bulb. Really. And very, very doubtful in my mind that it will become a GLOW after 2000. Neither passes the sense-or-nonsense test for me. Both are nonsense. Barcelona? Not hear a rumor, but a NY Great Lakes lighthouse would be another nice addition. Over at The Internet Index of Lighthouse Links ( www.HarbourLights.com/links/ ) there are three links: http://www.cr.nps.gov/maritime/light/barcel.htm http://www.ipl.org/exhibit/light/GL/Barcelona.html http://users.lanminds.com/~rjrico/ErOntLts/Barclona/Barclona.htm

I stopped and took some pictures of the Barcelona Light on the way out to the Providence Reunion last year. Even though its on private property, its right next to the road where you can view it. It has a natural gas lamp still in the primitive lantern room. Besides visiting the NY lighthouses, driving through wine country in late September smelled great.
