We will also see Egmont Key, FL next Year. Kim showed us the pictures of the piece last week when she was the guest of honor at the October TBHLCC meeting.

It looks like our HL Detectives are doing a great job out there! Another 2005 light has been confirmed!

I'm glad to see this one coming from H.L. We saw this light last year when we visited my brother down there. Will make a nice addition to the collection.

Bring it on. I'm always glad to see another Florida Light. We need to get all the Florida ones done before we loose them all in a hurricane.

Unfortunately Rich,

You just might have a valid point.

Sounds like a piece with a LOT of potential to become an HL classic! With the modern techniques for making HLs, this skeleton tower should be quite a neat piece. cool

Greg,
Egmont Key is a brick tower built in the late 1850s. She currently is a "headless horseman" but HL will depict her with the lantern room intact.

It would be neat if Harbour Lights made the lantern room removable so you could view just the aerobeacon (as it is presently).

Assume it will look more like this view:

Than the excellent photo that Stephanie posted or this view, which is neat as it shows the lighthouse from the water:

It will be interesting to see which way they go with it. Either one will be great to see.

I'm so excited about Egmont Key since it is near my hometown, St. Petersburg. Thanks, Stephanie, for the photo.

I'm late to this discussion...but, some interesting info came across the Circulation Desk in the Middle School where I work last week. The husband of one of our teachers sent me word and a calling card to contact a park ranger up in Northwest part of Florida. Seems like they have just received a big chunk of change to restore...you got it, Egmont Key Light. Right now, because of the holidays, that is all I know. But it is good news if it is true.

Will they be able to get a head for it?
